If you don’t have a chili recipe in your back pocket, make this one your new go-to recipe for game day. This isn't your typical chili recipe. We threw in some beer to give it a twist. It also adds depth to the flavor that is unique & delicious.
INGREDIENTS
Meat

1 jalapeno seeded and finely diced

4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 green bell pepper seeded and diced
- 14.5 oz crushed tomatoes canned
- 14.5 oz diced tomatoes canned (with juice)

1 tablespoon tomato paste

1/4 cup Lemon juice, freshly squeezed
Legumes

19 ounces kidney beans canned, drained & rinsed

2 - 2.5 tablespoons of chili powder (depending on hot you like it)

salt and pepper to taste

1.5 cups beef broth

1 cup beer (yes beer, if you don't trust us swap it out with more beef broth)
- Combine ground beef and 1 ½ tablespoons chili powder.
- In a large pot, brown ground beef, onion, jalapeno, and garlic. Drain any fat.
- Add in remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered 45-60 minutes or until chili has reached desired thickness.
- Top with cheddar cheese, green onions, cilantro or other favorite toppings.
